Diy is such a fun and rewarding hobby or even job. There are so many areas you could do it yourself. Woodworking is a great way to diy. There are so many things you could make with wood, and with not many tools needed. A miter saw is one tool that works really well with diy. But if you don’t have any big power tools you could even have the lumbar store cut your wood to size. You can make decor, furniture, and practical items with a really low cost. Making something is usually a lot cheaper than buying it from the store or paying someone else to do it. You also get to put your own spin on the design. You can make something completely original. Another way to diy is to makeover old furniture or buy stock plain furniture and fancy it up by making it custom to a design you love. Other than woodworking you can also diy crafts and decor. You can make something from scratch or buy something simple and make it your own. There are also many tips and tricks out there are how to make things look professionally done. Where to get inspiration on what to make and how to make it? Here are some of my steps I take when I am figuring out what to diy. Usually I think about something I need or want for my house. Then I think if I can make it or should I buy it. I look at ideas on Pinterest for the vibe I am going for. If I find something I like I see how much it costs online and if I can make it a lot cheaper I will make a plan to build it. If I can’t find what I’m looking for I try to create a design on my phone and then I will build if from there. Sometimes I just want to make something and I just figure out a list of the materials I will need and a plan for the best way to make it. There are also other reasons I love to diy. I love to work with my hands and you get so much joy out of working hard and building something yourself. My papa was a huge inspiration to me. He built over his backyard deck twice. Both beautiful and different for what my grandparents wanted at the time. So from building an entire deck, to a table, to making coasters, diy is such a rewarding activity.
